Introducing our Abstract NIHO TANIWHA AOTEAROA Collection inspired by the use of Niho Taniwha (triangular teeth shapes) used in Maori cultural design work from visual arts, weaving and tattooing. This form is also used by many other indigenous cultures worldwide with their own similar or differing meanings. We have experimented with the formation of niho taniwha in an abstract layout away from formal cultural designs to give neutrality. Colour-ways are inspired by the Red, White and Black colours commonly used in the Maori World.
